Imagine if you will, what Castiel is feeling at this very moment.

He has fought. He has bled. He has won and lost battles and wars. He has lied to and betrayed friends. He has sworn allegiances with demons and turned on his own kind. He chose to side with humans. He has died over and over. He has tried so hard and lost so much, trying to do the right thing.

And yet, as he stands here, watching his brothers and sisters, his family, fall helplessly from the sky, it all suddenly matters so little. All that he’s done, and this is what it’s amounted to - his entire family, including himself, stripped of their wings, torn from their home. He had wanted them to work things out, to restore their paradise, but instead it was his own grace that broke it all in the end.

There is nothing else  he can do. He is grounded. He cannot fly to catch them, and he is deafened to their cries.

What must he be thinking?
